Lucia is a cheerful young girl learning the shoemaker trade from her father, but when the town discovers the shoes she makes give magical gifts, she and her shy and sickly older sister Lilian run away in search of the hidden Wizard Academy- the only safe haven for magic users- or else the Queen will lock her up to steal her magic.
